Secret Reveal
Oct 30th

Title:  Hybrids
WrittenBy:  Shelly Morgan & Geri Glenn
ReleaseDate:  February 26, 2016
Genre:  Paranormal Romance
CoverDesign:  Wicked By Design

Their mother was the Angel of Protection. Their father was a soldier of the Underground. No one ever thought a demon could love an angel, but when their parents met, it was love at first sight. They fought their attraction until it was too much to take. When God, and the Devil himself, found out about the pregnancy, they fled to protect themselves and their unborn child. But when the pain of labor was over, instead of one baby, there were two; hybrid twins.

Cyrus and Joey are fraternal twins and the product of this forbidden love between ultimate good, and ultimate evil. When their parents are slain immediately following their birth, the twins are given refuge inside of a convent by a kind, but no-nonsense, priest with a penchant for slaying demons. The priest trained the twins from a young age to kill off an entire race that they themselves descend from.

Now, nineteen years later, Cy and Joey leave the convent forthe first time to investigate a series of rapes and murder happening at a college campus hours from the only place they’ve ever known or called home.Trying to navigate in this new world of school, parties, and the allure of the opposite sex, the twins quickly learn that being human isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. As they struggle with the feelings that come with falling in love, they both fight a battle from deep within. Will their love be enough? Will their own personal vendettas pull them in the wrong direction? But the question that plagues them most – are they good, or evil?

Shelly Morgan
Shelly is an Iowan girl. She now resides in the town she was born and raised in. Having three children, it’s hard for her to have any down time, but when she finds it, you can find her holed up somewhere reading her next steamy book in a long list of books in her virtual library or writing her next story.

She is the author of the Forsaken Sinners MC series, with her first book being released in February of 2015. Eventhough this is an MC series, she has plenty more ideas, so look out for more than just biker novels from her in the future.

Shelly became fast friends with Geri before she even released her first book, but through their friendship they both decided to delve into the jar of Paranormal. It’s been a lot of work, but such a ride so far, she’s actually sad to see it end. But she knows that with the end of this book, it’s not the end of the journey, it’s just the beginning. She hopes you enjoy it as much as she and Geri enjoyed writing it.

Geri Glenn
Geri is a Canadian girl, born and raised.  She’s a military wife, mother of two and devourer of words.  She can often be found reading a good book, magazine or any shampoo bottle within reach.

She is the author of the Kings of Korruption MC series, with her first book being released in August of 2015.  A sucker for any type of alpha male, Geri refuses to be tied to one genre.

Writing this book with Shelly has been a welcome challenge and a ton of fun. She hopes you love Cyrus and Joey as much as she and Shelly do!

L.B. Dunbar - I'd love to say I've written for 10,000 hours, and that makes me a pro. But I can't say that. What I can say is I had a story in my head that wouldn't go away. Lorraine Loveit - Even though Ms Loveit has a very busy life (wife, mother and secretary) she still manages to devote time to her passion for writing, and of course, reading.

Ms Loveit's current story came to her in a dream and it just grew from there. It is an erotic relationship theme with bdsm elements. She started writing it just to "get it out of my head." Lorraine has many more stories "in her head" just waiting for her to finish her current series. She also intends writing more short erotic stories.

She lives in the south west of Western Australia. When on holidays enjoys camping with her family and two dogs; always making sure she has plenty of reading material and, since she started writing, her laptop is the first thing packed. Find Lorraine on Facebook | Goodreads

Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her "freedom of press." She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic (like most girls brought up on Disney movies).

When Kandi isn't working or writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys beach days, movie marathons, live music, craft beer and sweet wine - not necessarily in that order. Find Kandi on Facebook | Goodreads

Layla Stevens - I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but moved to Pensacola, Florida in 1996. I have a huge family who I shocked them when I told them I was writing my first book. And I hope to pass that on to you all.

I am blessed to be the mom of a little girl named Sage who is the light of my life. {I call her Olga, and she hates it} I did not give birth to her but I choose her. Find Layla on Facebook | Goodreads

Madison Street - Madison Street was born in New York City and was raised in the Bronx, where she resided until she was 17 years old. After 9/11, Madison joined the United States Navy to serve her country.

During the deployments, Madison constantly wrote short stories and she discovered her passion for writing. You will find Madison always on the computer, whether she's on Facebook, designing websites, messing with Photoshop, or writing for her blog.

Besides writing, her second passion is music and dance. Even though she's a terrible singer, she'll still belt it out in the shower, especially if the song is her jam! She currently resides in Virginia with her husband of 8 years, 2 children, a dog, and a cat. She is so excited to start this amazing journey and is honored to be part of such a compassionate and loving community. Find Madison on Facebook | Goodreads

E.A. Sutton – Find E.A. on Facebook | Goodreads

Dawne Walters - I started writing in journals when I was seven or eight when I lived in Europe. Little short stories that were inspired by the many castles and historic places that evoke the imagination. I also kept a journal while deployed to 'escape'. I would write short stories about military romance. So, some of those will become full length novels...some with a happy and not so happy ending! Be prepared.

I never started out to be an author. I always wanted to be a nurse practitioner. I'll get there maybe, one day...

My hobbies are photography (yes, I have done weddings, a few CD covers, lots of family and couples sittings). My favorite band is Thirty Seconds to Mars...Give them a listen! Find Dawne on Facebook | Goodreads

Just a Quick Note...

I just wanted to take a moment and check in with everybody. I've been notably absent from my blogs during the past week or so, and even my social media presence has been relatively minimal. While I apologize for this absence, it was unfortunately unavoidable.  I've suffered for more than 20 years with back issues and in recent years those issues, while not of very frequent occurrence have become increasing painful and difficult to deal with.

My back did go out early last week and left me nearly completely incapacitated for over a day and with a wide range of muscle and nerve problems in the aftermath. I am still not back to normal capacity and have to limit the amount of time that I'm able to be at my computer each day.

I will continue to do what I can from my phone and iPad, but some aspects that I have to use the computer for my be affected for the interim.

That said...

The Halloween Haunt will be running from 5-11pm (MST) this Friday, October 30th - complete with author takeovers, giveaways, contests, games and LOTS of fun! If you haven't joined us yet simply go HERE and click join! Pre-event giveaways are already underway but I still have plenty of goodies to give to all you fine folks!!! So I've got to ask... Are you coming to the Halloween Haunt?

Review:

I’m always fascinated by the stories that include children as some of the main characters. Whether we’re talking a single mom trying to make it in the world, or a single dad just trying to keep it all together while life goes on, I can’t help but be interested in how these little people will change the basic dynamic of a romance novel. Trusting Jake by Lauren Giordano caught my attention for just this reason.
Jenna Stone is finally free of a bad marriage, one from which the only good things to come of it are her children – Alex and Megan. Forced to move and start over after being fired from her job, Jenna looks forward to a new beginning and is determined not to allow the past to repeat itself. To protect herself she maintains the illusion (er, lie) of being married, not truly realizing the very limiting conditions she’s placing herself and her children’s lives in. That is, she didn’t realize until after she meets Jake and remembers that not all men are like her ex-husband, and realizes that by lying she may have made an even bigger mistake than ever before.
Jake Traynor had very specific goals and expectations for himself. Desiring his married assistant was nowhere on the list. Falling in love with that very same, married assistant never even occurred to him as possible. And yet, it’s not long before he finds himself consumed with thoughts or her and, surprisingly of her children. But while he accepts that he can’t help but think of her, it would go against every moral and good intention he ever had if he were to act on those thoughts...
I really liked this story. It was sweet and romantic but held just enough edge – with deceptions, jackasses and angst, to keep it from being too sweet and romantic. Jenna lies through her teeth and yearns with all her heart, and Jake is confused and absolutely miserable.
Alex and Megan, these two little kids who seem to fall for Jake just as quickly as he falls for them, and who want him in their lives just as much as their mom wants Jake too, they are quite simply adorable. These kids could have been used as a road block for the relationship between Jenna and Jake, many an author take that route with kids, but instead the kids were a bridge between them. A common ground that even while holding themselves away from each other, Jenna and Jake couldn’t hold away from themselves.

I enjoyed watching as they struggled – as Jenna sought a way out from under the lies she’d been telling, as Jake fought with his own conscience and morals. I liked seeing the process their minds took, enjoyed how they finally came together and the aftermath of those moments. And you know, I liked that they both bent; that both of them adjusted what they thought they could accept, and readjusted it before really, really becoming ‘Jake and Jenna’.
All in all, Trusting Jake is a story that I thoroughly enjoyed and as it’s the first in a new series (Blueprint for Love) from the author, I’m happy that I’ll have the chance to revisit the characters from time-to-time, even if only peripherally. So if you’re looking for a short and sweet romantic tale – look no further than Trusting Jake by Lauren Giordano.

TUESDAY'S TUNES "Carry On My Wayward Son"

If you've visited my blog in the past you'll know that on Tuesdays I run a feature called Tuesday's Tunes. I try to have it up every week though I do occasionally miss for various reasons. The music I choose to highlight comes to me through variety of sources, for various reasons and with a wide array of inspiration. In the past I've talked about a love of sci-fi and fantasy based TV shows and movies that I share with my husband - "Heli Dad."

We've got shelves full of vampire and werewolf films, copies of movies about witches, sorcerers and all kinds of things that go bump in the night. We also have all the seasons of Stargate (SG1 & Atlantis), Sanctuary, Merlin, and (most important to this specific post) Supernatural. Date night's for us will just as often find us sitting at home watching a marathon of one of our much-loved-favorites, as it will find us venturing out on the town.

This previous weekend was no exception as we purchased the DVDs for Season 10 of Supernatural last week and were more than ready to be consumed in the chaotic and frequently scary lives of Sam and Dean Winchester. From Thursday night through Sunday afternoon we hibernated (sometimes with the kids but mostly without them as they went off to do their own things with other family or friends) and allowed ourselves to sink in to the Supernatural universe. And while there were a few things about season 10 that we scratched our collective heads over, on the whole we loved it just as much as the previous 9 years.

One thing we've always loved about the series is the music. From classic rock to hair bands, alternative, pop and even the occasional country tune, Supernatural has always offered music that we both can enjoy. A feature we've enjoyed since watching the very first episode of the series was the classic Kansas tune - "Carry On My Wayward Son" that for years was featured in use at a climatic point of each season of the show. During season 10, the 200th episode was aired and the version of the song that I feature today is a compilation that includes the song as it was featured during that episode of the show, while the video is a compilation of scenes from the entire series to the 200th episode.

I hope you enjoy, and you, "Carry On..."

Looks exciting yeah? Get your copy of Supernatural Season 10 here. Or start collecting the series here.

Kara Thorn had always been the confident one until the fateful day her heart was shattered. She lost the one person she thought would never walk away….

Devon McGraw, the man who had promised her forever.

When Kara returns to her hometown for a wedding, fate intervenes throwing her and Devon together once again. Their chemistry is stronger than ever before, but Devon is not the same guy that Kara fell in love with. The man he’d become had a past, and it was complicated.

He wanted a week, but Kara wants forever.

Will Kara forgive Devon’s past or will her own ruin any chance of her finding forever?

**Finding Forever is an Interconnected Standalone in The Chasing Series. Each book features a different couple.**

My heels clicked along the marble floor of the massive foyer as I followed the directions from the gold plated sign elegantly scripted with the names of Mulligan and Blythe. They even sounded like attorney names, I thought, smiling. I paused, standing just inside the doorway of the vast ballroom, trying to find my crew among the many people already gathered inside. It was definitely a party as the place was packed. I was so caught up in looking for them that I didn’t notice someone standing behind me until I wobbled unsteadily in my heels, taking a step back only to connect with a solid wall of muscle. As soon as those hands touched me, I knew.
“Have you already been drinking, Kara?” a voice asked.
Devon’s raspy timber assaulted my ears, sliding like smooth silk along the most intimate parts of my body. My reaction was instantaneous; a flash fire in high wind. My face flushed. Myheart rate accelerated. My breaths grew shallow. He’d always had this effect on me. Trying not to let him sense how much his nearness distracted me, I stepped forward feeling the sensation of his calloused hands slide along my skin as his fingers slipped from my arms. I shivered and forced a bright smile as I bravely turned around to face him.
This was it. Game face in place.
“Not yet, Devon,” I replied, noticing the way his eyes leisurely drifted along my features. He had no business staring at me with that look in his eyes. I wasn’t his anymore. He’d thrown me away. I straightened my shoulders, standing taller as if preparing myself for battle, and noticed his smug expression. His gaze was momentarily distracted by my girls. It was good to know that he wasn’t as immune to my charms as he would have liked me to believe. “Eyes up here, buddy,” I saucily reminded him.
He didn’t even have the grace to look ashamed that he’d been caught checking me out. There was nothing shameful about Devon. Well, except for his behavior tonight and the way he filled out the gray suit that he wore. His full lips curved into a wicked grin causing the simmering warmth in my stomach to spread like molten lava throughout my entire body and sending a shock to my system. It would be so easy just to let myself get lost in those glacier blues of his, to let him cool the fire he’d started inside of me. I had to forcibly remind myself —he wasn’t mine anymore. He belonged to someone else.
